What a wonderful time I had with fellow TPWD folks at a staff meeting this week! Had a really cool opportunity to do some black-lighting with Ross and others at Albert and Bessie Kronkosky State Natural Area. Didn't stay out too long (so dry!), but a few cool things did show up.

Quick survey thru Flood Retention Basin. Found 40 flower spikes. Most were in full bloom, some were beginning to mature (bloom drying, setting seed). Photo 1 is a maturing spike. Photo 2 is a spike in full bloom; photo 3 shows the basal leaves from same spike. I think some spikes that I had found have matured and become way less visible. Did see Common Buckeyes on a couple of spikes and an unidentified "fly" on one spike. Other ares further SE searched but no NLT spikes found this time.
