Very decomposed it is the same seal I posted a while ago on a different beach btw hear are skull and teeth pics also possibly grey seal
Seal (female) was taken to Channel Islands Marine and Wildlife Institute and has since been released
Fortunately a frequent sight on the beach now, but still with a small population. Most people are polite and heed the warnings and keep their distance, but there is always the occasional "this doesn't apply to me" that goes for the close-up selfie, or prevent them to beach trying to get close, usually before the volunteers cordon them off or in more isolated locations like Ke'e, on the north shore.
The individual in the water in the second photo is the same one that was on the beach, entered the water as I snorkeled. Kept my distance!
