Attracted to light, 40w Actinic (Heath Trap).
+1 new moth.
The Alfredton Domain partially covers a piece of remnant forest, which is very weird in that it consists almost entirely of just giant old kōwhai and lacebark, with 2-3m high Melicytus micranthus (presumably the host plant) under it, and nothing much of anything else. Typical 'stock have suppressed the understory' type thing
Two reticulated stage beetles under the same log, with a dozen of these. Same species?
Seen at night while doing Black Petrel research at Mt Hobson Hirakimata.
